Welcome to my little space on the internet. I am so happy you’re here, and that you’re interested in my work.
One of my favourite things to do is to write reflections on my experiences, what is happening in the world around me, and sometimes even the weather. I simply enjoy mulling things over, following threads of meaning from one thing to another, and always exploring what my inner wisdom wants to tell me.
Before I start those, though, I should probably offer some responses to the question of Who Am I? This website offers a few clues–spiritual director, writer, workshop teacher. Here are a few more:
- Midlife woman happily married to a middle-aged man
- Spouse of a retired Canadian Armed Forces member
- Mother to two amazing humans who are now pretty much adults
- Former administrative assistant, school bus driver and barista (not all simultaneously)
Yet all of that is mostly about roles I’ve filled. The question of “Who Am I” is one I started exploring in my early 30’s, and the journey just keeps getting more interesting. If I were to answer that question without reference to anything I do, I would offer these responses:
- Creative explorer
- Storyteller
- Contemplative mystic
- Lover of the Divine
- Continous learner
The truth of who I am is something I see with only partial clarity. It requires paying attention to what moves me, distresses me, inspires me, and even what overwhelms me. There is a lot of “both/and” in who I am. I can be kind and I can also be dismissive. I can be generous and I can be self-absorbed.
One of my most frequently used hashtags is #rememberingmytruth, because that is what is most important to me–that I stay connected with the truth of who I am.
If you’d like to eavesdrop on my journey, I’d love to have you alongside. Please click here if you’d like to have my blog posts delivered directly to your inbox, and please feel free to share your reflections and comments below.
